Instructions

Stovetop Directions:

  1. Place the following ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat:
    • Sugar, granulated
    • Water
    • Pumpkin puree
    • Pumpkin spice
  2. Stir occasionally to keep the sugar from sticking to the bottom. Bring the mixture to a simmer, 2-4 minutes or until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from the stovetop and add vanilla extract.
  3. Cool the syrup and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Make sure to hold and serve at 41°F or below. Avoid bare-hand contact with ready-to-eat food.

Microwave Directions:

  1. Place the following ingredients in a microwave-safe container:
    • Sugar, granulated
    • Water
    • Pumpkin puree
    • Pumpkin spice
  2. Heat for 2 minutes in the microwave. Using potholders, safely remove the syrup from the microwave and stir. If the sugar has not dissolved, continue to heat in 30-second increments until done.
  3. Add vanilla extract. Cool the syrup and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Critical Control Point (CCP): Hold and serve at 41°F or below. Avoid bare-hand contact with ready-to-eat food.

Tip

  • Store the simple syrup in the cooler for up to one week. Ensure that the container is clean and airtight.
