Dr. Kirsten Bennett has over 30 years of experience in pediatric nutrition, both in-patient and out-patient. She specializes in the care of children with complex medical issues, developmental delay and chronic disease through early intervention programs in her clinical practice, Bennett Nutrition and Consulting; through her work with the New Mexico Department of Health; and by expanding telehealth services through the Mountain States Regional Genetics Network and the New Mexico Telehealth Alliance.
Dr. Bennett also serves as a preceptor for dietetic interns and LEND trainees, serves on graduate thesis committees, provides guest lectures at the University of New Mexico and is a principal partner of the New Mexico Quality Improvement Partnership LLC, serving pediatric providers and agencies across New Mexico.
Dr. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Science in human nutrition/dietetics at the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned her Master of Science in human nutrition and doctorate in educational psychology at the University of New Mexico (UNM). She previously served as director of Envision New Mexico and assistant professor of pediatrics at UNM, pediatric dietitian at the UNM Health Sciences Center, director of the dietary department at Los Lunas Hospital and Training School and as president of the New Mexico Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
