Dr. Vicky Green is currently an Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Director of the Dietetic Internship at Louisiana Tech University. Her research interests include the application of nutrition knowledge, pediatrics, food systems management, food deserts, and human access to food. Over the years, she has gained an appreciation for the use of technology and social media in the realm of nutrition education and dissemination of research-based information and has worked on many collaborations that use social media and technology to engage youth and adults to improve educational outcomes. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as the dietetic internship at Louisiana Tech and her PhD at Texas Woman’s University. After spending 15 years working for cooperative extension and she now shares her passion for community nutrition with her students. Dr. Vicky Green is a life-long resident of Louisiana. Currently, she resides in West Monroe with her husband and 2-year-old daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys distance running, cooking, and spending time with her family.
