Dairy MAX Welcomes June Dairy Month

Grand Prairie (June 11, 2015) – Kansas dairy farmers will ‘Celebrate All Things Dairy,’ during June Dairy Month. Throughout June, Dairy MAX, your local dairy checkoff, will promote dairy nutrition and eating healthy foods with farm family recipes.

“Without a dairy farmer’s commitment to their land, cows and making quality milk, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy delicious and nutritious dairy foods,” said Marty McKinzie, vice-president of Industry Image and Relations for Dairy MAX, Inc. “June is a great time to celebrate all their hard work.”

Dairy MAX encourages all dairy lovers to participate in the month-long celebration by pinning their favorite Dairy MAX recipes on Pinterest using the hashtag #dairyamazing. All participants will have a chance to win a prize pack for the perfect party planner. The prize pack can be used to enjoy the dairy foods you love.

“Kansas dairy farmers are proud to provide the best milk, yogurt and other nutritious dairy foods you purchase at the grocery store, said Dan Kullot, a veterinarian and dairy farmer from Syracuse, Kan. “Thanks for your support!”

This kind of dairy promotion is a tradition. For more than 75 years, June Dairy Month has promoted dairy consumption during peak milk production. Originally called National Milk Month, the celebration has evolved across Kansas with food demonstrations, festivals, and parades.

Returning to June Dairy Month are events like the Passion for Pints Blood Drive. This is the third year for the event, which starts on June 1 with more than 150 different blood drive locations across Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.
